Psychological Preparation for Olympic Performance: How do we Develop Resilient Athletes and Teams?
The development of resilient athletes and teams is an important aspect of the psychological preparation for Olympic performance. Based on three decades of resilience theory and research, this workshop presents a program of mental fortitude training™ for persons and teams wishing to develop psychological and team resilience for sustained success. The workshop will be delivered in English language and split into three main parts. The first part will briefly describe what psychological and team resilience is (and isn’t). The second part will outline a mental fortitude training™ program using sport-related examples to illustrate important features. The final part will provide some practical guidance for those implementing or undertaking the training.
